Dear Patients and Friends,

I am pleased to announce that I have relocated my practice of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery from Houston to Southern Marin County just across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco. In doing so, I am fulfilling every father's dream to be with his children and to share more fully in their lives as they continue to grow. To accomplish this goal in the exquisite beauty of Northern California adds a dimension which is truly exciting.

This is a relocation of practice and emphatically not a retirement. As a result, an economically feasible alternative to surgery and recovery in Houston now exists which allows you to enjoy a postoperative experience in one of the world's great destination areas. Surgery can be performed in a state-of-the-art facility while recovery, rather than a time for confinement, can become part of a plastic surgery retreat, a get-away, a vacation which you and the person accompanying you might, in total anonymity, truly enjoy. The city, the Bay, the Pacific, the redwoods, and of course Napa are, after all, literally within minutes.

I have committed to the following: I will travel to Houston on a regular basis each month to see new patients in consultation and to follow those who have undergone surgery. These office visits will take place at the Park Laureate Building, 10000 Memorial Drive, Suite 410, where my Houston office was located prior to relocating to California. Appointments for these visits may be made by simply contacting my office manager, Maggie Gimber, via our toll-free number at (888) 696-3700.

The cost of travel will be offset. Transportation will be provided to and from either of the two airports that serve the Bay Area. The Casa Madrona Hotel or the Inn Above Tide in Sausalito provide an intimate hotel setting for postoperative stay at an attractive rate. I will personally see you postoperatively on a daily basis either at the Casa Madrona Hotel, Inn Above Tide or in my office in nearby Ross.

Surgery will be performed at the Surgery Center of Marin on the campus of the Marin General Hospital. This is a fully accredited, full service operating facility comparable in every way to the very best Houston has to offer. Anesthesia is administered only by Board Certified Physician Anesthesiologists with whom I work on a regular basis. Anesthesia and hospital charges are consistent with the most attractive fees in Houston.

For our skin-care patients, we have re-established our relationship with Jan Marini Skin Care. Products can be purchased by contacting Maggie in my office.

On a personal note, moving from an established practice of 25 years in pursuit of something extraordinary has been, to say the least, unconventional. I am nonetheless convinced of the wisdom of that choice. I sincerely hope you will consider this proposal as an attractive option. I am absolutely confident you will be pleased with your decision.
